Individual Dialogical
Systemic Psychotherapy
If you feel that being in therapy with your family is a big step for you to take. Polyphony Therapy will offer you individual treatment to explore in one to one sessions, the unique circumstances that bring you to therapy. Our clinical approach will support you to explore and discover the different relational patterns in your life to find alternative ones that fit better with the life you have chosen to build.
Dialogical Family and Systemic Psychotherapy
Based on the rich tradition of Family and Systemic Psychotherapy and Open Dialogue. You and your family or social network will have the opportunity to hear stories about your relational lives which have not been heard yet. We will strive to create an environment to build trust, mutual respect, cooperation, commitment, and clear channels of communication where everybody feels safe and heard.
This clinical approach is based on exploring the different stories that already exist in the family or social network, patterns of interaction, and the beliefs that you hold about the situation that bring you to Therapy. All the participants will enjoy the benefits of witnessing the unfolding of a deeper understanding of the different perspectives the family or social network holds about being in each other lives.
Parenting and Carers Support
This offer is for separated, divorced, or living together parents, as well as for foster carers who are experiencing difficulties in their relationship with their children and whose children are not available to participate in therapy. This clinical approach is suitable for parents and carer whose children are displaying physical aggression, verbal arguments, defiance, and self-harm behaviour.
This intervention is based on the principles of Non-Violent Resistance (NVR) and Family and Systemic Psychotherapy. Parents and carers will be supported to develop a parenting stance where they can foster a calm presence, develop the skills to de-escalate behaviour, rebuild relationships with their children with the help of a support network.
Intercultural Couple Psychotherapy
Polyphonic therapy is keen to support the increased multicultural British experience of being in a relationship with a person from a different culture. Our clinical expertise will enable you to explore the meaning of being in an intercultural relationship by supporting meaningful conversations about sameness and differences in values, family practices, way of thinking, and way of being. This therapeutic offer can be a great fit for couples consisting of different nationalities, ethnicities, faith, race, step families, and same sex couples.
Racially Sensitive Trauma Informed Therapy (RSTIT)
RSTIT provides a racial lens to therapy that forge an understanding on how the racial socialisation process in society has constructed one’s sense of identity. This is a dynamic therapeutic process that relies on racially based self-examination, self-interrogation, and self-reflection.
This self-reflective context usually set the scene to contemplate your racial identity through different lens by developing a Dialogue through questions like: Who am I racially? Who have I been racially? And many more.
